We're just around the corner for AMD's launch of its latest generation of Ryzen processors. In light of this imminent launch, Amazon has discounted a bunch of Ryzen 2nd-gen processors. Interestingly, Ryzen 3 CPUs are not included, so this just covers the Ryzen 5 and 7 right now. The discounts are considerable too, allowing you to pick up a new AMD Ryzen 7 2700 processor for just $200, a full $99 off the original listing price.
Other processors included in this promotion are the Ryzen 5 2600, Ryzen 5 2600X, and Ryzen 7 2700X. We have confirmed these price drops to also be present in other markets, including the UK.
Should you buy the current generation of processors from AMD or hold off for 3xxx CPUs? It depends on whether or not you want to save big in the short term or payout initial launch pricing for the latest tech. If you're just putting together a gaming rig or a PC that won't take advantage of the improved performance and other features AMD has added in the new CPUs, it makes sense to save up to $99 on a brand new Ryzen 2xxx CPU. Should you want the latest and greatest, hold out for a few more days.
