Watch episode three of our exclusive documentary on winning an international fashion prize.

LONDON, United Kingdom — In the final part of the BoF China Prize documentary, we follow the story of Caroline Hu’s London Fashion Week debut, seeing the young designer as she makes final tweaks to her collection, meets global retailers, buyers and editors, and reflects on the evolution of her creativity in the past year.

Earlier this year, six designers from China’s most exciting up-coming labels competed for the BoF China Prize, which was created to spotlight emerging Chinese talents who are building international businesses. Shenzhen-born Hu emerged as the winner of the inaugural prize on March 29 — receiving US$100,000 in prize money, a cocktail reception during Paris’ haute couture week, a slot on the London Fashion Week schedule and top-level mentorship from the BoF community.

This episode captures an intimate celebratory dinner at the art deco-style Brasserie of Light at London department store Selfridges, attended by former British Vogue fashion director Lucinda Chambers, model Arizona Muse, designer Samantha Cameron and entrepreneur Wendy Yu.

Next, we follow the production of Hu’s SS20 presentation at the Serpentine Gallery, where set designer Jabez Bartlett creates the backdrop to her collection, “Impressions of Love,” ready to welcome influential industry figures including Vogue China Editor-in-Chief Angelica Cheung, fashion blogger and reporter Susanna Lau, and the British Fashion Council’s CEO, Caroline Rush.

Faced with the task of bringing her latest presentation to life, developing a creative concept and casting models and selecting hair and makeup looks to complement her collection, Caroline Hu wrestles with the reality of making her fledgling “demi-couture” brand into an international business, before reaching a triumphant conclusion.

Watch now and discover the human stories behind winning an international fashion prize.

The BoF China Prize is a new fashion award created to discover emerging Chinese design talent. The winner receives a cash prize of $100,000, presentations at both London and Paris fashion weeks, and top-level mentorship from the BoF community. Catch up on Episode 1 here and Episode 2 here.
