Layers of Fear developer Bloober Team teases Observer sequel

Looks like the story isn't over after all.

What you need to know

  • Bloober Team developed Layers of Fear and Observer.
  • Observer is a cyberpunk horror game where you can hack people's minds.
  • The developer recently teased an Observer sequel on its Twitter account.

In a cryptic video message on Twitter, Bloober Team appears to tease an Observer sequel — or at least a project related to Observer. The short video clip features the Chiron Incorprated logo with the words "Incoming Call" but it doesn't tease anything further than that.

A Twitter user even decoded some of the glitchy binary in the message that flashes to read: "Daniel, are you there?" Bloober Teams responded to this by saying, "Good hacks! :D" confirming that whatever this is has to do with Observer since the game's protagonist was named Daniel and the video itself features the logo of the Chiron corporation in the game.

Developer Bloober Team has been focused on psychological horror games the past few years with Layers of Fear, Observer, and Blair Witch.

Considering the Xbox Series X and PS5 are less than a year from release, it would be nice to see this sequel come to next-gen consoles. As of right now, though, platforms have not been confirmed, nor has a release date or any substantial information, for that matter.
