Office Insiders in the Monthly Channel (Targeted) ring have new options for GIFs, images, and more thanks to a recent update. The update brings Office to build 12430.20050 and includes new features for PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel. The update also allows organizations to manage how groups are created.

You can read the complete changelog on the Insider Office page and the highlights from the update below.

Outlook

Searching across multiple email accounts just got easier

  • If you have multiple accounts connected to Outlook searching for an email can take time. The All Mailbox option now supports Top Results, an advanced search service that returns more relevant results.

Standardize group names

  • Now your organization can standardize and manage how group names are created. Using a consistent naming strategy will make it easier to identify the groups in your company directory. With the new Groups Naming Policy, administrators can define naming conventions when groups are created. They can require a specific prefix and/or suffix be added to the name. They can also block the use of specific words.

Word, Excel

Save objects as pictures

  • Shapes, icons, pictures, oh my! Now you can save objects in Word and Excel quickly and easily through the right click menu.

PowerPoint

GIFs in a jiffy using PowerPoint

  • One slide, one frame. Easily create looping GIFs in PowerPoint. If you have a GIF idea, you can now use PowerPoint as a tool to bring your idea to life. Open PowerPoint, insert media, animations, and text on your slide, and then export or save as an animated GIF.

You can join the Office Insider program to test out and give feedback on features through Microsoft's Office Insider page
