- Gearbox added several quality of life enhancements to Borderlands 3.
With the latest episode if The Borderlands Show, Gearbox announced a new seasonal event coming to Borderlands 3 along with a level cap increase that's sure to make fans happy. A patch set to drop this month is also bringing some quality of life enhancements and changes to the game.
The new seasonal event is for all of you people out there sick of Valentine's Day. Broken Hearts Day, as the event is dubbed, will have lovesick enemies from across the universe with special hearts floating around them. Shooting these hearts has a number of different effects like "buffing your party's damage output to temporarily converting an enemy to an ally to simply exploding into a pile of loot," according to Gearbox. Breaking hearts reaps rewards, including skins and legendary weapons unique to Broken Hearts Day.
The level cap has also increased from 50 to 53. It's a small one this time, but nonetheless welcome. Gearbox says that additional level cap increases will come down the line, so they aren't done just yet. Level cap increases will be free to all players.
Should you wish to opt out of this event entirely, or any seasonal event going forward, you can do so with a new toggle in the game's menu.
