Sigfox Germany is expanding its product portfolio of smart, 0G network-based IoT sensors with solutions from its new line card partner Connected Inventions. Connected Inventions is a company of the Finnish and Estonia 0G network operator that develops its own smart 0G sensors.
Connected Inventions 0G sensors are characterised by high quality, have an extremely attractive price position compared to competitive solutions and optionally offer seamless end-to-end connectivity including the flexible sensor cloud platform FoxerIoT. This data platform makes it very easy to manage and analyse all important data points – from temperature, air quality and CO2 values to air pressure fluctuations or even data from multifunctional measuring devices. Thanks to standardised Sigfox cloud and open interfaces, the sensors can also be easily integrated into any customer application.
“The cooperation with sensor manufacturers such as Connected Inventions is an important component for us in expanding the range of solutions offered by Sigfox Germany, with which we will drive forward the digitisation of the german economy. They form the decisive foundation for IoT projects, which we implement on a turnkey basis together with system integrators. This allows our customers to concentrate fully on their core competencies and leave digitisation to a team of experts who do nothing else but search for and implement the best solution for customers on a daily basis,” says Elena Sztochay, director solution sales at Sigfox Germany, who is responsible for developing the product portfolio.
Solutions from Connected Inventions are ideally suited for digitisation projects such as those offered by Sigfox to medium-sized and large companies, because they have already been mass market-tested and are used in solutions from companies such as Leanheat (by Danfoss), Caverion or Fortum as well as the Finnish postal service provider Posti.
“We are very pleased to be one of the first sensor manufacturers to be included on the Sigfox Germany line card. Germany is a very large and therefore extremely important growth market for Connected Inventions. Being listed with the German operator of the Sigfox 0G network means a lot to us, as it will certainly help us to continue our dynamic growth,” says Kushtrim Xhakli, director IoT solutions at Connected Inventions.
The Sigfox 0G sensors from Connected Inventions at a glance
The Connected Inventions product portfolio includes numerous Sigfox 0G network-based temperature and humidity measuring devices that are used both in the digitalisation of buildings (smart buildings) and in IoT-connected refrigeration technology. The main areas of application are installations in the area of room monitoring – either exclusively for monitoring and documentation or in combination with heating, air conditioning and ventilation technology.
Other areas of application are wherever refrigeration is to be monitored, i.e. in cold rooms, cold stores, refrigerated counters and refrigerators as well as in refrigerated vehicles and ships. Among other things, they facilitate here the HACCP-compliant documentation of compliance with cold chains. For this purpose, external sensors can also be connected to the temperature measuring devices so that the measuring device itself does not have to be exposed to the cold. One variant of the temperature sensors offers an integrated CO2 sensor to control air conditioning and ventilation systems according to how intensively individual rooms are used.
Another measures volatile organic compounds that can be produced by microorganisms and fungi. Particle sensors are also available for air purity, for example to monitor and document the air quality in operating theatres and the use of exhaust air technology for decontamination. The portfolio also includes an air pressure differential meter, a motion detector and a multifunction meter for connecting sensors that operate with pulse frequencies or discrete on/off circuits in the voltage range of 0-10 V and 4-20 mA. Another focus of Connected Inventions is smart logistics with solutions for refrigerated transport and fresh produce logistics as well as smart trackers.
All sensors are characterised by the fact that they are designed maintenance-free for long-term measurement and can be operated for five to ten years without changing batteries. Installation of most of the devices is also extremely simple, requiring neither special tools nor a configuration process. Even the cloud-based management of the sensors is designed to be user-friendly, whether you have dozens or thousands of them. The same applies to the integration of the sensors into OEM-specific applications. The sensors are available immediately and can also be ordered in small quantities from the upcoming Sigfox shop from the end of March.
