National Hispanic Heritage Month, which is observed annually from September 15th to October 15th, celebrates the histories, cultures, and contributions of U.S. Latino and Hispanic communities. This includes all Americans who come from or are descendants of someone from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. The commemoration, which started in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week, was expanded to a month by President Ronald Reagan on August 17, 1988 President Ronald Reagan.
