This summer it seemed like Rio Ferdinand, the 43-year-old ex-Manchester United defender, was never off our TV screens as a pundit covering the Euros.
As a member of England’s so-called “golden generation”, Rio Ferdinand won six Premier League titles and a Championship League medal, as well as playing 81 times for the national side.
Since hanging up his boots, Rio has tried his hand at different business ventures, including setting up a music label, an online magazine and a clothing line.
However, he’s found his true business metier as a restauranteur, opening Italian restaurant Rosso in Manchester, named with a wink after the famous red Manchester United strip. The restaurant attracted local showbiz and soccer stars when it opened in a former Grade II-listed bank in 2011 and had a revamp in 2017.
