We are only a few weeks away from the release of the Blumhouse horror/thriller, The Black Phone. This has been a highly anticipated film since its debut last year at film festivals. All the marketing for this feature has showcased Ethan Hawke’s sinister character wearing horrific masks. Masks that give me Twisty the Clown vibes from FX’s American Horror Story. A few days ago, Universal Pictures released a new featurette “A Look Inside”. Here Hawke, who plays the killer, describes the kind of sinister character called, “The Grabber” that we are going to get to know in The Black Phone.Looks like Hawke had a great time at playing this dark character. It will be interesting to see if the film is going to take any time in explaining “The Grabber”‘s background. Or if it will be left vague and a mystery. For a killer, sometimes it’s scarier to not understand why they do what they do.
