Amazon will close its Book Depository later this month, 12 years after acquiring the UK-based online shop.
The store, which has been running since 2007, will shut its doors on 26 April.
In a statement on its website, Book Depository told customers: “We are sorry to let you know that Book Depository will be closing on 26 April 2023.

“You can still place orders until midday on 26 April and we will continue to deliver your purchases and provide support for any order issues until 23 June. From all of us at Book Depository we want to say thank you.”
It added: “Delivering your favourite reads to you since 2007 has been a pleasure.”
The store has offices in London, Gloucester, Madrid, Cape Town and Chennai, alongside fulfilment centres in the UK and Australia. However, it is unclear how many jobs will be lost through the closure.
The news comes as Amazon workers at its Coventry warehouse have recently launched six fresh strike days over a dispute over pay.
This comes on the back of Amazon laying off around 9,000 employees across its global business.
