#Microsoft It’s about a month before the annual Consumer Electronics Show, the largest tech event of the year, and Lenovo is giving consumers and businesses a sneak peek at some of their latest laptops, with which the company aims to help their customers embrace a new generation of AI computing. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon, ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 and IdeaPad Pro 5i are all Intel Evo laptops powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra processors and Windows 11. Microsoft Copilot in Windows 11 is part of that new generation of AI computing. New features help summarize web pages, compose emails, change settings and enable new experiences in apps such as Paint and Snipping Tool. The laptops – aimed at tackling the hardest work tasks – include three Intel compute engines to handle AI PC tasks efficiently. Offloading compute tasks to the NPU and/or GPU improves efficiency and performance and delivers better power management. [caption id="attachment_178627" align="alignnone" width="1024"] IdeaPad Pro 5i[/caption] Another highlight of the ThinkPads: an inclusive customer experience. Tactile markings have always been part of ThinkPad design since 1992, to aid users who are visually impaired to navigate the keyboard. In 2021, Lenovo’s Product Diversity Office established a partnership with the Governor Morehead School for the Blind in Raleigh, North Carolina, to better understand how visually impaired users interact with their PCs. Now there are new tactile markings on the ThinkPad keyboard aligned with Volume, Insert, Function and Enter keys. Users will also find larger trackpads, optional glass Haptic Touchpad input and a larger magnetic pen. The new ThinkPad X1 Carbon and X1 2-in-1 also have improved thermals and power savings with wake-on-approach with face sensing, and support adaptive dimming on external monitors, adding extra security. The ThinkPad portfolio continues to increase its use of recycled materials, PCC (Post-Consumer Recycled Content) plastics and plastic-free bamboo and sugarcane packaging to minimize the use of virgin materials and reduce waste during production. Create, edit and game on the new 14- and 16-inch Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i, which also provides faster AI-powered photo editing. That means higher quality previews and faster video export thanks to all-new processors from Intel and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU pushing up to 115 TDP. This laptop also includes an IR FHD camera with ToF sensor and privacy shutter that supports Windows Hello for quick and secure login. Find out more about these and other new offerings from Lenovo.
